More Come than Go

We made five trips to the airport this week! .

Elder Sandukira, Sister Ndashe, and Sister Chuma,
These three are from Districts within the mission area, either Zambia or Malawi.

These missionaries were is transit to other MTC’s and had to stop in Lusaka because they live in district’s within our mission and, as such, were set apart for their missions by the mission President, President Moyo.
*Poor Elder Sandukira's luggage didn’t follow him and was “lost” for a three days!!                                 *The people in South Africa couldn’t find Sister Ndashe for about 4 hours after she was suppose to have arrived. We had a pretty good hunt going on for her! Come to find out though, she had been detained at Immigration all that time. (Have I ever said that Immigration is awful!!).
*Sister Chuma was simply sweet through and through!!

We welcomed the largest group of missionaries so far…. TWELVE!! They had all been in the South African MTC. They were so happy and excited and nervous and apprehensive all at the same time!! (I know the feeling)! But each comes with a desire to do what’s right and a willingness to serve the Lord.
I read something from President Nelson this week that I thought was fitting for all these young people, including Grandson Logan who finally received his visa and headed off this week to his original calling destination (Peru). President Nelson said,  “True disciples of Jesus Christ are willing to stand out, speak up, and be different from the people of the world. They are undaunted, devoted, and courageous.” This is exactly what their countenances radiated…undaunted, devoted, and courageous!

It’s especially fun, for me at least, when they are from so close to home.
Sister Porter from Wyoming
Sister Harris from St. George
Sister Bates from Chubbuck
Sister Manning from Twin Falls
Sister Daud from Tanzania

Elder Dlamini from Eswatini
Elder Johnson from Wellsville, UT
Elder Chimbiviri from Zimbabwe
Elder Ison from Price, UT
Elder Sibanda from Zimbabwe
Elder Rydalch from Rexburg
Elder Christensen from Fillmore, UT

One, Sister Day, was headed home. She kept saying, “I don’t want to go home!” She stayed with us the night before she left because of her early morning flight. That was a real treat as we got to hear of some of her experiences.

She’s a missionary for certain as she even gave a Book of Mormon to the lady at check-in who asked a question!

When we first came there were about 80 missionaries. By the end of the year we will have at least 120 (some are still receiving calls). We just need senior couples!!
