No more Books of Mormon!
The missionaries have been instructed to "lead out with the Book of Mormon." If they sense a genuine interest in people they give them a Book of Mormon instead of a pamphlet.
Generally, Elder Phelps and I do not have a lot of contact with other people other than vendors so we are giving books to some of them. The pharmacist, the airline ticket agent, the guards, the caterer, the clerk at the Bed Shop. When we were with a couple of Sister missionaries the other day, they made a contact with a lady standing in line at Hungry Lion!
Elder Phelps is giving a pamphlet not a Book of Mormon to Chipo. He has done a little work for us.
Five thousand copies of the Book of Mormon have been on order for quite awhile! At least six weeks! That is a long time! Kind of challenging to "lead out with the Book of Mormon" when there are not any books around! We scrambled and search all of the apartments. We shared!
At first we were told there was a paper shortage in the United States so printing was delayed. And then there is the back log at ports!!
Finally, we received word that the books had arrived!! The photo above was taken by the Assistants when they went to the airport. The boxes still had to go through customs. Another few days of waiting!!
The Assistants loaded up their truck with a few of the boxes of books to take to Malawi. They put in as many as they could without overloading the truck and weighing down the tires! Books are heavy, the truck is not big, and the road to Malawi is not good!! Some boxes had to be taken out because of too much weight!
This is Elder Seay and Elder Juhasz!
Even Gift pitched in and carried a few for us! By the way, Gift washes our car better than any one else. He really can make those tires shine...just to Elder Phelps' liking!
