“This feels SOOO good!”






 This is an incredible lady!! Her name is Soka Banda. 

I have seen this lady a lot over the past few weeks. A couple of weeks ago in Relief Society she was making wonderful comments and her contributions were so beautiful. The discussion that day was about the Book of Mormon and how we can share it with friends and neighbors. She was quoting scripture from both the Bible and the Book of Mormon. 

After the meeting I learned that she was NOT a member of the church! I was so surprised!! 

Today she, along with her two daughters, Grace and Precious, were baptized! After her baptism when she had changed back into her church clothes she walked out into the hallway. I walked over to her and she had tears in her eyes but had the biggest smile on her face!! She said, “This feels SOOO good!” 

                                      

She lives very far from the church. It is a two hour walk! Each way!! She has a little two year old boy, named Destiny, that she carries, as well!! If everyone could be this dedicated and committed!!

D&C 84:88    Eleven missionaries were traveling from Malawi to Lusaka, Zambia, in two separate vehicles on 2 January 2023. It was about 1:00-1:30 in the afternoon; it was raining so the roads were a little bit slick, even though it was very warm. They were coming around a curve when an oncoming car was in their lane.                                         Jessica wrote, “We held a “surprise” party in the construction zone of our house. 😂. It was the only way we could keep the secret of my parents getting a mission call. Everyone was surprised. I’m  the only one who knew it was coming cause I saw a letter one day early in January on the kitchen table. So I planned the party😁. I made the puzzle map of the U.S. cause me and my parents thought it would definitely be a states mission. But…they are going to Zambia (in Africa)😅. I don’t know who is going to be more shell shocked- my mom or my dad. If you know my mom, she does not like big adventures away from home. This will definitely be the ride of their life!”

Lots of good-byes

Starphel made going away matching clothes for Hal and I. She did a nice job on choosing the fabric! She was simply beaming when she saw we wore them to church today! After speaking in one Sacrament meeting and bearing our testimonies (by invitation) in the other ward we took advantage of the one hour block and took lots of pictures. The Quero family...well, at least some of them. Brother Quero, Kevin and Lianah. Lianah is preparing paper work for going on a mission. Sister Quero and their other daughter, Shaniah, are still in the Philippines.   Jennifer, one of my piano students who quit coming because of the conflict of time because of her school.
