The Peacemaker

We have started to say our good-byes to a few people we have come to cherish. Fadwick Chola was the most dedicated of the piano students I tried to teach. Today he played "Lord Dismiss Us With Thy Blessings" almost perfectly! He was super nervous with me trying to record him but I told him I just had to.

To express his gratitude he drew this picture of the Savior being a peacemaker and gave it to us. "The Peacemaker" was the title chosen by Fadwick. I told him how he must have been inspired to draw this particular scene, especially since President Nelson's talk in General Conference was on being a Peacemaker.

Bishop Mwanza, his wife Albertina, and son Manassa. They have been so gracious to us. Their home was one of the few homes in a compound that we actually went inside of. They live in very humble circumstances, like most of the people here.

Brother Nonde, his wife Esther and their daughter Makayla. He had served in another town, Ndola, as branch president. He is a great asset to the ward here. He knows the gospel very well. His wife, Esther is the sweetest lady...always smiling! She is a lot of fun to be around. When we had them over for dinner, she could not get enough of the bread and butter. She had never tasted butter!

Brother Nonde's sister, Precious is getting ready to serve a mission.
