Mark L. Pace, General Sunday School President
Elder Fransen shaking hands with Elder Pace.
We had the awesome opportunity to have Mark L. Pace, General Sunday School President visit Zambia. A meeting was held for the Lusaka Stake 1 November 2022. We ended up going one hour early because we were a little confused about the time. Their plane was late landing and then Sister Pace accidently left her passport in the restroom at the airport so they had to go back and retrieve it. So the meeting was more than one hour late starting. We were there more than four hours, but it was great!!
Elder and Sister Pace talked about expecting and receiving miracles.
Afterwards they wanted to shake hands with everyone in the congregation. There were probably about 150 people in attendance. That was my first time to ever shake hands with a general authority.
Sister Manning, Mangena, Phekula, and Jamu waiting for the meeting to begin.
Today, Elder Pace attended our District Council Meeting that is held once a week. Here he is doing a role play with Elder Watson and Elder Palmer.
After the training segments of District Counsel, Elder Pace taught us powerfully about the Holy Ghost!
These were his highlights:
Feelings of peace are from the Holy Ghost (D&C 6:22-23).
Inspired thoughts come to our minds and feelings to the heart (D&C 8:2-3).
We have to put in some work to receive inspiration from the Holy Ghost (D&C 9:7-8).
He said this was something he learned while on his mission by Sterling W. Sill. It was great to be taught by him!
Hal and Elder Pace having a friendly chat. Elder Pace thanked us many, many times for being willing to get out of our comfort zones and coming to serve in Africa. He was very kind and gracious! He said the Area Authorities are making a big push for more couples serving missions!
